Klay Thompson, ex-Warriors player, achieves unprecedented feat in NBA basketball history

Former Golden State Warriors star Klay Thompson has etched his name into NBA history in a way no one has before. Thompson, known for his sharpshooting from beyond the arc and multi-dribble moves, had a rough farewell with the Warriors, going scoreless in his final game against the Sacramento Kings (0-10 field goals, 0-6 from three) before being traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 2023.

Since joining Dallas, Thompson has struggled to regain his previous form. His scoring has dipped to an average of 10.9 points per game, with shooting percentages of 36.8% from the field and 34.6% from three-point range, prompting some to question whether his prime years are behind him.

Despite these challenges, Thompson recently made history. After scoring 23 points against the Los Angeles Clippers, he became the NBA player with the most games recording 20 or more points while attempting two or fewer free throws, according to Real Sports on X/Twitter.

Although it is unlikely that fans will see the dominant Warriors-era Thompson again, the Washington State alumnus has shown that when he finds his rhythm and confidence, he can still deliver impressive performances from long range.
