Coco Gauff Embraces Fashion in Accepting Style Influencer of the Year Award at the 2025 FNAAs

Coco Gauff received the Style Influencer of the Year Award at the 2025 Footwear News Achievement Awards, held on December 3 in New York City, highlighting the prominent role fashion plays in her life.

The award was presented by Storm Reid, who previously won the same accolade. The two discussed their shared connection through New Balance, as well as mutual values in expressing individuality. Both women emphasize authenticity and creativity through personal style.

In her acceptance speech, Gauff reflected on her identity beyond tennis. She stated, Being a female athlete often means being told to stay in our lane, to focus on the sport and nothing else. But as Ive grown in this sport, I realized that while its my passion, it isnt my entire identity.

She continued, Fashion has become a way for me to express who I am beyond the court. Through what I wear, I can show a side of myself that isnt defined by limits or expectations. I love fashion because it allows full creative freedom and the ability to be unapologetically yourself.

Gauff concluded by encouraging other female athletes to embrace their individuality, Thank you to Footwear News for this recognition, and I hope female athletes everywhere continue to express their authentic selves, regardless of others expectations.

Later in the evening, she also presented the Collaboration of the Year Award to New Balance and Miu Miu, celebrating their tennis-inspired collection released in September.

The FN Achievement Awards, often called the Shoe Oscars, have celebrated influential figures in fashion, philanthropy, and design for 39 years. The 2025 ceremony was supported by major brands including Caleres, Listrak, Nordstrom, Skechers, Vibram, and Wolverine Worldwide.
