Jean-Charles de Castelbajac has maintained a unique position in the fashion world by constantly staying relevant and present in cultural conversations. His ability to evolve while remaining instantly recognizable is central to his enduring influence.
I see creation as a sequence of stages: conception, design, realization, staging, and finally, sharing it with the audience, he explains. The final stagepresenting the workis crucial.
The exhibition's closing section features a vibrant mural of breakdancers and emphasizes the idea of giving back. De Castelbajac envisions this space hosting live performances, from concerts to dance showcases, to continue inspiring others.
This exhibition isnt about showing off my work. Its about transmission, he notes. I want people to take my methods, my approach to reinterpretation, and my subversive strategies, and make them their own.
