Bangkok, the world's most visited city, is facing issues with badly behaved tourists in Asia.

Bangkok has been named the worlds most visited city, drawing an estimated 30.3 million international travelers in 2025, according to the latest report from Euromonitor International. The citys growing popularity is part of a broader surge in tourism across the Asia-Pacific region, which has seen international arrivals rise by an impressive 10% year-on-year.

However, this influx of visitors has not come without issues. Tourism hotspots across Asia are increasingly dealing with problems caused by poorly behaved tourists, raising concerns among travel experts about managing the rapid growth. Its almost like the genie is out of the bottle, said one analyst. How do you put it back in?

In other global travel rankings, Paris has once again been recognized as the most appealing city worldwide, topping the Euromonitor Top 100 City Destinations Index for the fifth consecutive year. The index evaluates cities based on tourism appeal, sustainability, economic performance, and health and safety. Non-European visitors to Paris, however, will face higher costs at major attractions, such as a 45% increase in Louvre Museum entry fees starting next year.

Record-Breaking Hotels, Bridges, and Tunnels

Dubai recently unveiled the worlds tallest hotel, the 377-meter Ciel Dubai Marina, designed on a small plot of land by architect Yahya Jan. Meanwhile, the Rosewood Hong Kong was named the worlds best hotel of 2025, followed closely by the Four Seasons Bangkok at Chao Phraya River.

Engineering feats are also making headlines. Norway is constructing Rogfast, a 17-mile-long undersea rail tunnel intended to drastically reduce travel time between cities. China opened the 2,051-foot Huaijang Grand Canyon Bridge in Guizhou, the worlds tallest bridge, while India inaugurated the 1,180-foot Chenab Railway Bridge in Kashmir, linking the region to the national rail network for the first time.

Urban Wonders and Skills at New Heights

High-rise expertise is on display as veteran window cleaner Jang Woo-seok tackles the 125 floors of Seouls Lotte World Tower, demonstrating the precision and bravery required for such work. These human and architectural achievements highlight the blend of culture, skill, and ambition shaping modern urban landscapes.

As global tourism grows, cities face both the rewards and challenges of hosting millions of visitors, from record-breaking infrastructure to the delicate task of ensuring respectful and sustainable travel behavior.
