Edinburgh Airport has temporarily stopped all arrivals and departures after an IT malfunction in its air traffic control system caused widespread disruption at the international airport. The technical problem reportedly began around 08:30, leaving some travelers stranded on planes waiting on the tarmac.

Airport authorities confirmed they are addressing the malfunction and urged passengers to reach out to their airlines for flight updates. A spokesperson for Edinburgh Airport stated:

"An IT issue affecting our air traffic control system has resulted in the suspension of all flights at Edinburgh Airport. Teams are actively working to resolve the problem as quickly as possible. Passengers should contact their airline for the most current information regarding their flights."

Further information is expected as the situation develops. Passengers are advised to monitor updates for the latest details.
