Actor from Home Improvement Allegedly Arrested in Oregon

Actor Zachery Ty Bryan, best known for his role on Home Improvement, has been arrested in Eugene, Oregon, marking his sixth arrest over the last five years. His fiance, Johnnie Faye Cartwright, was also taken into custody, according to jail records.

Details of the Arrest

According to Lane County Jail records, Bryan was arrested on November 29 for allegedly violating the probation terms from a prior domestic violence conviction. He is currently being held without bail, with a scheduled release on Wednesday, December 3.

Cartwright was also booked at the same facility. Records indicate she faces five charges: one count of driving under the influence, three counts of reckless endangerment, and one count of attempted first-degree assault. As of November 30, she remained in custody.

Background of Legal Troubles

This arrest adds to a series of legal issues for Bryan. His previous arrest occurred in January in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, where he was charged with second-degree domestic violence. Police reports detail that a woman stated she was assaulted, claiming Bryan "choked her and punched her multiple times." The woman, later identified as Cartwright, shares three children with Bryan: daughter Kennedy and twins Parker and Sequoia.

Earlier this year, Bryan faced DUI charges twice, once in February and again in October. In 2023, he was also charged with fourth-degree felony assault, third-degree robbery, and misdemeanor harassment. Bryan ultimately pleaded guilty to fourth-degree felony assault, a domestic violence offense, and received a sentence of seven days in jail plus 36 months of supervised probation, which is set to expire in October 2026.

Legal Representation

It is not yet confirmed whether Bryan or Cartwright has secured legal counsel for their current cases.
