Google has unveiled its 2025 trending topics, highlighting the most searched musicians of the year. Leading the list was D4vd, whose name surged in searches following the discovery of 14-year-old Celeste Rivas Hernandezs body inside his Tesla during the summer.
The search data was released weeks after Los Angeles Police Detective Joshua Byers described the case as a murder investigation while seeking a court order to block the public release of Rivas autopsy details. Byers cited concerns that revealing the findings could compromise the homicide inquiry.
Earlier reports indicated that D4vd is regarded as a suspect in Rivas death. At the time, the singer was on tour out of state when his 2023 Tesla Model Y, which had sustained damage, was impounded on Sept. 5 from the Hollywood Hills Bird Streets area. Police were notified by the tow yard that the vehicle had a strong odor and was attracting flies, according to court documents.
Regarding the Google data, the trending label reflects a notable increase in searches for D4vd throughout 2025 compared to 2024. He was also among the top five trending people overall on the platform for the year.
Following D4vd, the music chart included girl group Katseye in second place, Bad Bunny third, Sombr fourth, Doechii fifth, and Jonas Brothers sixth. Google also shared its top trending songs, led by Taylor Swifts The Life of a Showgirl. Other notable tracks were Wood at number one, Bad Bunnys DtMF at number two, HUNTR/Xs Golden at number three, Fate of Ophelia at four, Father Figure at five, and Oplaite at eight.
