Houston-based accounting firm Doeren Mayhew has completed the acquisition of TBK CPA, a strategic move expected to significantly boost its growth in the local market by 2025.
The deal brings nearly 35 additional employees to Doeren Mayhew, including four new members joining the firms leadership team. Financial terms of the acquisition were not made public.
This transaction is part of Doeren Mayhews 2025 growth strategy, aimed at increasing its regional presence while preserving the firms core values and long-term vision. Chris Masters, Managing Principal of Doeren Mayhew Advisors Houston, stated: Our 2025 plan focuses on growth that aligns with our principles and vision for the future. TBK enhances our Houston footprint while reflecting our commitment to exceptional client service and a people-first culture. Their dedication to tailored client solutions and collaboration matches our own, and we are excited about what we can achieve together.
Established in 2014, TBK CPA is a Houston-based firm providing comprehensive tax services to high-net-worth individuals and privately owned businesses. Its clients are mainly in healthcare, real estate, oil and gas, professional services, and construction sectors.
The integration will bring TBKs specialized expertise and local connections into Doeren Mayhews operations. All former TBK partners will join Doeren Mayhews leadership as tax principals: John Blackmon, Kristi Gibb, Nick Kabani, and Colin Taylor. Additionally, Chuck Fiorello, previously a TBK partner, will take on a director role.
A joint statement from TBKs leadership highlighted: We are proud of the firm we have built over the past decade. Considering our growth, we carefully evaluated the best path to continue serving our clients evolving needs while providing greater opportunities for our employees. Doeren Mayhew offers extensive resources that will help us strengthen client relationships and broaden our advisory capabilities.
The acquisition of TBK follows other recent expansions by Doeren Mayhew, including the acquisition of Novotny CPA Group in West Michigan, and McMurray, Fox & Associates in Tennessee, which expanded its Nashville practice and added new offices in Hendersonville and Gallatin.
