FOX sideline reporter Erin Andrews is making headlines ahead of the NFLs Thanksgiving games. On a recent episode of her Calm Down podcast, Andrews reflected on the personal sacrifices of her career. She noted missing holidays and important life events as part of her work as a sideline reporter. "You have to truly love what you do because I miss all holidays," she shared. "I didnt get married until my 40s I live out of a suitcase. I miss weddings, events, and family time. You need passion to accept not being home for Thanksgiving or having a shortened Christmas."

In response, ESPN reporter Jenna Laine offered a different perspective. Laine, a longtime Tampa Bay Buccaneers reporter, acknowledged Andrews experience but highlighted broader hardships. "Erin Andrews mentioned the challenges in this business starting out at $40K a year and missing holidays. I respect her point, but consider those working multiple jobs in retail, warehouses, or service industries, just trying to survive. They dont get family time either. Many are struggling to pay bills or feed their families. Some kids wont even have Christmas presents. Yes, we get fed on the job, and I respect the hustle, but perspective matters," Laine commented on X.
She added that her remarks were not intended to single out Andrews. Laine reflected on the sacrifices of service members and their families, noting she works holidays like Christmas and New Years without complaint.
This Thanksgiving, Andrews will be reporting from Ford Field for the NFC North matchup between the Green Bay Packers and Detroit Lions.
