Family says college student dies unexpectedly following football tailgate

Authorities are probing the sudden death of a Texas A&M University student after she attended a football tailgate over the weekend. Austin police reported responding to an apartment complex at approximately 12:45 a.m. on Saturday following a call about an unresponsive person.

Brianna Aguilera was declared dead at the scene at 12:57 a.m., police confirmed. Officials stated that, at present, the incident is not treated as a homicide and no signs point to suspicious activity. The cause of her death has not yet been disclosed, and the investigation continues.

According to her family, Aguilera had attended a tailgate event for the Texas A&M versus University of Texas football game in Austin on Friday. "The circumstances after the tailgate are still unclear," her family shared on GoFundMe.

"Our hearts are broken," the family added. "Brianna was dedicated to her goal of becoming a lawyer and was enrolled at The Bush School of Government & Public Service at Texas A&M. She was just one year away from receiving her Aggie ring."
