Mother of Texas A&M Student Who Died After Football Game Suspects Foul Play (Exclusive)

The family of Brianna Marie Aguilera, a 19-year-old Texas A&M student, is demanding clearer answers after her body was discovered outside an apartment building in Austin, Texas, on November 29, shortly after the conclusion of the Texas vs. Texas A&M football game.

Briannas mother, Stephanie Rodriguez, has publicly stated that she does not accept the possibility that her daughters death was accidental or self-inflicted. According to her, key details surrounding the event seem inconsistent and troubling.

Police in Austin confirmed that Briannas body was found near a West Campus apartment complex during the early hours of Saturday. In an official update released on December 2, investigators said their findings so far do not suggest a homicide. They emphasized that the case remains open and that detectives are actively interviewing witnesses, collecting evidence, and reviewing all available information.

Authorities explained that, at this stage, there is no indication of criminal or suspicious activity related to Aguileras death. The final cause will be determined by the Travis County Medical Examiners Office. Law enforcement also extended condolences to the family and reiterated their commitment to conducting a complete and respectful investigation.

Rodriguez, however, disputes the conclusions suggested by police. She explained that, when her daughter drank alcohol, she was especially vulnerable due to her small frame. Rodriguez fears that someone may have pushed her or carried her to the balcony after she became unresponsive. She says the suggestion that Brianna may have harmed herself is deeply upsetting and, in her view, completely inaccurate.

My daughter was full of life, Rodriguez said. She had goals, she loved school, and she was excited about her future. Brianna had expressed a strong desire to become a lawyer and was passionate about her education at Texas A&M.

On the night of her death, Brianna was attending a gathering on the 17th floor of the 21 Rio apartment building with around 14 others. Earlier that evening, Rodriguez said she had been unable to reach her daughter, which immediately caused concern. She also believes an argument involving Brianna and another young woman may have occurred during the party, possibly connected to a dispute over a boyfriend.

As her family continues to wait for definitive answers, Rodriguez wants the public to remember Brianna as a bright, ambitious, and caring young woman. A former cheerleader, she was also a loving older sister who cherished her two younger brothers.

During a recent Thanksgiving visit home to Laredo, Brianna made a point of spending quality time with her family. She surprised her siblings with coffee in the morning and took them to see a movie together. According to her mother, she was happy and eager to return to campus.

There is no way she would have chosen this, Rodriguez said. She was looking forward to everything ahead of her.
