Obdulia Sanchez, who broadcasted fatal 2017 accident, dies in California

STOCKTON, Calif. Obdulia Sanchez, who previously served prison time for livestreaming a deadly car accident that claimed her sisters life near Los Banos in 2017, was fatally shot in Stockton, California, on Tuesday evening, authorities confirmed.

The San Joaquin County Sheriffs Office reported that 26-year-old Sanchez was killed in a drive-by shooting around 7 p.m. Another person was injured in the incident and transported to a local hospital. No arrests have been made, and anyone with information is asked to contact the Sheriffs Office at 209-468-4400.

Back in 2017, Sanchez was driving with her 14-year-old sister when their vehicle left the roadway and flipped, ejecting both her sister and a friend. The tragic accident, including the moment her sister died, was broadcast live on social media. Sanchez later received a six-year prison sentence for gross vehicular manslaughter, DUI, and child endangerment, but she served less than half of her sentence before being released on parole.

In 2019, she was arrested again after a high-speed chase, during which police found her in possession of a loaded firearm.
