Residents of Texas and Camp Mystic employee appeal for assistance in recently disclosed 911 recordings from July flood

KERRVILLE, Texas Newly released 911 recordings reveal Texas residents caught in the devastating July floods urgently requesting rescue, while staff members at Camp Mystic also called for immediate assistance. The catastrophic flooding, which claimed more than 100 lives, prompted Texas authorities on Friday to publish hundreds of emergency call recordings.

Emergency dispatchers in rural Kerr County handled over 400 calls within a six-hour span as rising waters rapidly engulfed the area during the July Fourth holiday. Kerrville Police Chief Chris McCall noted that the calls were deeply distressing and difficult to listen to.
