Actor Scott Wolf has formally withdrawn his temporary protective order against his estranged wife, Kelley Wolf, as their divorce proceedings continue publicly. A Utah court approved the 57-year-old actors oral request to dismiss the amended order during a hearing on December 3, 2025. The case was subsequently closed, and all related protective orders were nullified.
Kelley, her legal team, and Scotts representatives have not publicly commented on the court decision. The legal conflict began after Scott filed for divorce from Kelley on June 9, 2025, ending their 21-year marriage. Soon after, Kelley was placed on a court-ordered involuntary psychiatric hold at a Utah hospital due to concerns about her mental health.
Scott initially sought the protective order on June 25, shortly following their separation. In late August, Kelley was arrested after allegedly sharing private information about friends and family on social media, including Scotts phone number and communications with their three children. She faced three misdemeanor charges: one for electronic communications harassment and two for disclosing personal identifying information.
On August 28, a protective order was imposed, barring Kelley from contacting Scott or their childrenJackson, 16, Miller, 13, and Lucy, 11directly or indirectly. She was also required to remain at least 300 feet away from Scott and allowed contact only through court-approved mediation sessions. Days later, Kelley was charged with an additional misdemeanor for allegedly violating this order by attempting to reach Scott and one of their children through friends.
Earlier reports indicated that Kelley returned to a Utah mental health hospital on September 21 after allegedly threatening herself and Scott. A court-ordered psychiatric evaluation on September 26 resulted in a mandatory minimum 60-day hold, during which she was required to take prescribed medication for stabilization.
Kelley missed a court appearance on September 30 for her misdemeanor cases due to ongoing treatment. The judge postponed the matters with notice to her. In mid-October, she was transferred to another local mental health facility to continue her care. Scott publicly acknowledged Kelleys 49th birthday during her hospital stay, posting a tribute on social media with a past photo of her smiling.
Analysis: Scott Wolf Withdraws Protective Order as Divorce Proceedings Continue
The withdrawal of the temporary protective order by Scott Wolf marks a significant development in the ongoing legal battle between the actor and his estranged wife, Kelley Wolf. The decision to dismiss the amended order, which was approved by a Utah court on December 3, 2025, brings an official close to the protective measures that had been in place since August. While the case itself is still unfolding in the courts, this move indicates a potential shift towards resolving the couple's divorce outside of the immediate legal constraints.
The withdrawal, however, does not signify the end of the couple's complex legal conflict. Scott's initial request for the protective order, followed by Kelley’s subsequent arrest and charges related to online harassment and the sharing of private information, created a public spectacle. The case also involved serious mental health concerns, including Kelley’s psychiatric holds, which only added to the intense media coverage surrounding the divorce.
Despite the lifting of the protective order, the underlying issues of the divorce, including custody of the children and the mental health concerns of Kelley, remain unresolved. The absence of public commentary from both parties and their legal teams suggests a desire for privacy during the ongoing proceedings. The future of their relationship, both personally and legally, will likely continue to evolve in court, with further developments expected in the coming months.
