14 Palestinians, including 3 children, killed in Gaza storms

Severe storms in the Gaza Strip have led to tragic consequences, with at least 14 Palestinians, including three children, confirmed dead. The powerful storms caused widespread destruction across the region, leaving many residents in dire conditions.

The Coordination of Government Activities in the Territories (COGAT), the Israeli body responsible for facilitating the delivery of aid to Gaza, issued a statement confirming Israel's commitment to ensuring that humanitarian assistance reaches those in need. The agency emphasized its role in overseeing the daily entry of trucks carrying vital supplies like food, water, fuel, medicine, medical equipment, and shelter materials, including tents and tarpaulins.

According to COGAT, over 270,000 tents and other essential relief items have been delivered to Gaza in recent months. As winter approaches, the agency is preparing a targeted humanitarian plan to address the growing needs of Gazas population.

Despite Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahus public support for the ceasefire agreement made in September, progress has been slow. The United States is pushing for a swift transition into the next phase of the agreement, but Israel insists that significant steps must be contingent upon the return of the last deceased hostage. Additionally, Israel is resisting U.S. pressure to resolve the standoff with Hamas militants still holed up in southern Gaza, under Israeli occupation.
