Cinematographer Yorick Le Saux to Receive Robby Müller Award for 'Father Mother Sister Brother'

French cinematographer Yorick Le Saux, known for his work on Father Mother Sister Brother and The Wizard of the Kremlin, has been selected to receive the prestigious Robby Mller Award. The award will be presented during the 55th International Film Festival Rotterdam, taking place from January 29 to February 8.

The Robby Mller Award recognizes the exceptional artistry of cinematographers and is given in partnership with the Netherlands Society of Cinematographers and Andrea Mller-Schirmer.

Le Sauxs films, Father Mother Sister Brother and The Wizard of the Kremlin, will be featured in the festivals Limelight program. He is widely celebrated for his collaborations with directors such as Olivier Assayas, including Carlos, Clouds of Sils Maria, and Personal Shopper, as well as Franois Ozon on Swimming Pool and 52. His impressive portfolio also includes work on I Am Love by Luca Guadagnino, Only Lovers Left Alive by Jim Jarmusch, High Life by Claire Denis, Little Women by Greta Gerwig, and Blitz by Steve McQueen.

The Robby Mller Award jury praised Le Saux, stating: Yorick Le Sauxs visual style is rooted in careful observation and a strong connection to reality. His cinematography enhances storytelling without ever overwhelming it, balancing rhythm, atmosphere, and emotion across diverse genres and narratives.

Additionally, the festival announced juries for its three main competition categories. The Tiger Competition, which highlights daring and innovative filmmakers, includes Iranian filmmaker and actress Soheila Golestani, Brazilian director Marcelo Gomes, Greek-French actress and director Ariane Labed, BFI festivals director Kristy Matheson, and Croatian novelist and film critic Jurica Pavii.

The Tiger Short Competition jury features Congolese director and photographer Sammy Baloji, Georgian visual artist Anka Gujabidze, and Tampere Film Festival director Jukka-Pekka Laakso.

The Big Screen Competition, celebrating a blend of popular, classic, and arthouse cinema, will be judged by Yemeni-Scottish filmmaker Sara Ishaq, Dutch actress Loes Luca, Imagine Film Festival director Chris Oosterom, EYE museum programmer Mila Schlingemann, and Dutch director and actor Jan-Willem van Ewijk.
