Disney World Valet Arrested for Allegedly Stealing Checkbook and Cashing in Over $1K, 21-Year-Old Suspect

A 21-year-old valet worker in Florida has been taken into custody after allegedly stealing a visitors checkbook and cashing nearly $1,300 in unauthorized checks during a trip to Disney World.

According to the Orange County Jail records, Mason Henrichsen faces two third-degree felony charges, including grand theft by fraud and check forgery.

Authorities reported that the victim, visiting from Ohio, parked her car with valet service on Saturday, November 29, at Kidani Village in Disneys Animal Kingdom Lodge. On Wednesday, December 3, she received multiple alerts from her bank regarding four unauthorized withdrawals totaling approximately $1,300.

Screenshots obtained by the woman revealed checks made out to Henrichsen. She informed authorities that her checkbook had disappeared from her vehicle, though there were no indications of forced entry.

Investigators were able to match Henrichsens signature to the fraudulent checks. After contacting the Kidani Village valet manager, they confirmed his employment there. Henrichsen was arrested when he reported for his shift later that evening.

In an arrest affidavit, officer Richard Schorr noted that Henrichsen allegedly stated he found a check on the parking lot and decided to write it to himself.

A Disney spokesperson clarified that Henrichsen works for an outside company, not Disney directly. The sheriffs office stated that the case will be forwarded to the Economic Crimes Unit for additional investigation.
