Webb stated, Ive been discreet because Ive gone as far as I was advised to go, and described William as having a wound that will not heal. He emphasized that the Prince feels a strong need to know exactly what happened to Diana.

The author added, I think the impact on William must have been absolutely traumatic, and noted, Hes decided that the time has come. He needs to know. Webb also reiterated that William is eager to discover the truth about events from 30 years ago.

Regarding Princess Dianas life at the time, Webb mentioned that she had been taught to distrust those closest to her. He explained, She could no longer trust these people. All the people whom shed relied upon in her life up to that point, she got rid of.

Webb further noted that 18 months later, Diana had surrounded herself with a new circle of people, but they were not ideal for her security. It turns out they were not the people you want to have in charge of your security, he said.
