Weymouth, England, was awash with festive cheer and pointy ears last weekend as hundreds gathered to attempt the world record for the largest assembly of elves. The coastal town in Dorset saw an impressive turnout of participants, all dressed in colorful, holiday-inspired costumes, aiming to surpass Thailand's current record.
Enthusiastic elves traveled from as far as Wales, Winchester, and Yeovil, demonstrating dedication that went beyond attendance, with many spending months crafting intricate outfits. One notable participant, Andy, creatively transformed a Star Wars stormtrooper costume into a glowing elf ensemble, standing out amid the sea of traditional attire.
Dawn Rondeau-Irvine, a local business leader, confirmed that while the gathering reached the planned number of participants, it fell short of the record of 1,762 elves. Organizers are already planning a new attempt for 2026.
The festive parade featured stilt walkers and Santas sleigh leading the procession, offering the community a delightful holiday spectacle regardless of the official record result.
