JD Vance declares that his relationship with Usha is 'stronger than ever'

WASHINGTON Vice President JD Vance and his wife, Usha Vance, have embraced the online chatter surrounding their relationship with humor rather than frustration. In a Thursday interview with NBC News, Vance addressed the recent media buzz about the second lady occasionally being seen without her wedding ring.

We actually find it amusing, Vance said, reflecting on the attention. Life has its ups and downs, and you take both. Our marriage is as strong as its ever been, and Usha has truly embraced her role, which has been rewarding to witness. He spoke from his West Wing office, surrounded by photos of their family.

The speculation intensified last month after Usha Vance was photographed ringless during a visit to a military base with First Lady Melania Trump. A spokesperson clarified that as a mother of three young children, she sometimes forgets to wear her ring while handling everyday tasks.

Vance shared another anecdote: just days ago, as Usha Vance was leaving for a White House event with Melania Trump, she realized she had forgotten her rings after a shower. She said, If I dont go back, someone online will make a big deal out of it, Vance recounted. I told her, let them. Its not worth running back upstairs. We actually enjoy the humor in it.

Despite the public attention, Vance acknowledged the challenges it brings. There are certainly sacrifices, and its not always easy on the family, but thats part of what we accepted when we took on these roles, he said.

The couples three children, ages 3, 5, and 8, have each reacted differently to life in the spotlight. Our 8-year-old prefers privacy and dislikes attention, while our 5-year-old enjoys the limelight and the special treatment he receives, Vance explained.

Usha Vance, who rarely gives interviews, has taken a more visible role in promoting childhood literacy and development across the country. Its been incredible to watch her passion for this cause grow, Vance said. Its been a new adventure for us, and weve both enjoyed it immensely.
