Kate Middleton Reveals Subtle Hair Change While Stunning in Princess Diana's Earrings for German State Visit

Kate Middleton and Prince William are taking center stage for the German state visit in the U.K., scheduled from December 3 to December 5. The visit features a glamorous state banquet on Wednesday evening at Windsor Castle.

Upon arrival at Heathrow Airport, the Prince and Princess of Wales were the first to welcome German President Frank-Walter Steinmeier and First Lady Elke Bdenbender, ahead of King Charles and Queen Camilla.

Similar to her roles during the French state visit in July and the U.S. visit in September, Kate Middleton is set to be prominently involved in this diplomatic engagement. On December 3, 2025, she appeared in a familiar blue Alexander McQueen coat and a Juliette Millinery fascinator, the same outfit she wore at the royal familys Christmas Day celebrations in 2023 before stepping back from public duties earlier in 2024.

Alongside her ensemble, Kate accessorized with Princess Dianas earrings, her Prince of Wales Feathers Brooch, and showcased a subtle hair transformationwearing her hair straight instead of her usual soft curls. Underneath the coat, she wore a black Burberry dress.

The couples role in the visit highlights their diplomatic significance, as they were the first royals to meet the German presidential couple at Heathrow before accompanying them to Windsor Castle. The presidential guests will stay at Windsor due to ongoing Buckingham Palace renovations, and a carriage procession will transport them to the castle for a gathering in the State Dining Room and a tour of German-linked items from the Royal Collection in the Green Drawing Room.

The state banquet on December 3 will see Kate likely wearing a tiara, following her previous appearances at French and U.S. state banquets. Her preferred choice for these events is the Queen Mary Lovers Knot tiara, also famously worn by Princess Diana.

On December 4, the visiting couple will honor Queen Elizabeth by laying flowers at her tomb in St. Georges Chapel, followed by a reception hosted by the King and Queen highlighting volunteerism. Before leaving, they will visit the Abbey to lay a wreath at the Grave of the Unknown Warrior.

The participation of William and Kate in this and previous state visits underscores their role as the modern embodiment of the monarchys key diplomatic engagements.
