Kate Middleton Stuns with Massive Tiara at State Banquet

Kate Middleton made a spectacular appearance at Windsor Castle, showcasing her third tiara moment of 2025and it was her most impressive yet. The Princess of Wales attended a state banquet honoring German President Frank-Walter Steinmeiers visit to the U.K., where the event adhered to a formal white-tie dress code.

For the evening, Kate, 43, wore Queen Victorias Oriental Circlet Tiara, paired with a shimmering blue gown by Jenny Packham. This marks the fifth distinct tiara the Princess of Wales has debuted since joining the royal family in 2011, making it her largest tiara to date.

Since her wedding to Prince William, Kate has previously worn the Cartier Halo Tiara, Lotus Flower Tiara, Strathmore Rose Tiara, and Queen Marys Lovers Knot Tiara at various royal occasions, including state banquets, diplomatic events, and royal weddings. She recently wore the Lovers Knot Tiara for the visits of both U.S. President Donald Trump and French dignitaries, complementing couture gowns with intricate embroidery and silk details. After largely stepping back from public appearances in 2024 for health reasons, Kate announced her remission earlier this year.

The state banquet brought together senior members of the royal family, including King Charles, Queen Camilla, Princess Anne with Sir Tim Laurence, and Prince Edward with Sophie, the Duke and Duchess of Edinburgh, as well as international guests such as Claudia Schiffer, Hans Zimmer, and Axel Scheffler. Guests took their places along a 45-meter-long table, with the German president seated beside King Charles and Princess Kate.

St. Georges Hall was adorned with festive decor, highlighted by an enormous Christmas tree, adding a seasonal touch to the regal setting. The royal procession featured King Charles and Queen Camilla entering with the German president and first lady, followed by Prince William with Dr. Drte Dinger and Princess Kate with Sebastian Roloff. Claudia Schiffer participated in the procession alongside German politician Dr. Johann Wadephul.

The banquet menu featured local ingredients from the royal estates, including Windsor partridge, and a 1995 vintage Chateau la Fleur-Petrus wine, marking the German presidents wedding year. A specialty cocktail honored the visiting nation, incorporating cherry and chocolate flavors reminiscent of Black Forest Gateau.

The dining arrangements were meticulously prepared for 152 guests, with 320 knives, 152 spoons, an equal number of forks, 760 glasses, and 158 candles. Seasonal flowers and foliage from Windsor Castle and Buckingham Palace decorated the table, with unused flowers donated to local charities supporting hospices, elderly care homes, and shelters.
