Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau Celebrate Significant Relationship Milestone During Trip to Japan

Katy Perry and Justin Trudeau recently met with former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife, Yuko, during their visit to Tokyo. The couple had been seen showing affection publicly in the city the day before.

Perry is currently on her "Lifetimes" tour and performed in Saitama, Japan, on Wednesday, December 3.

Following their PDA-filled walk through Tokyo, the pair reached another milestone in their relationship, this time involving Trudeau's diplomatic connections. The duo had a meeting with former Prime Minister Kishida and Yuko, where they posed for a photo shared on Instagram.

In his caption, Kishida wrote, Former Canadian Prime Minister Trudeau visited Japan with his partner, Katy Perry, and we had lunch together. During my time as Prime Minister, I met many world leaders, and during my visit to Canada, we collaborated to strengthen bilateral relations, including the Nikka Action Plan. I am happy our friendship continues.

Kishida emphasized the importance of Canada as a partner in politics, security, economy, and culture, adding, We will continue to work toward friendship and cooperation between Japan and Canada.

Kishida served as Japans Prime Minister from 2021 to 2024, overlapping with Trudeaus tenure as Canadas Prime Minister from 2015 to 2025. Perry was in Japan for her Saitama concert, allowing her to participate in the diplomatic visit.

Trudeau and Perry have been romantically linked since July. Sources describe the relationship as casual, with one telling Entertainment Tonight, Theyre enjoying their time together and getting to know each other. Perry had previously been in a long-term relationship with actor Orlando Bloom, ending in June, while Trudeau separated from his wife Sophie Gregoire in 2023.
