Katy Perry and former Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau were recently spotted in Japan, meeting with prominent leaders during their travels. A photo capturing Perry and Trudeau alongside former Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida and his wife was shared on social media by Kishida on Thursday.
In his post, Kishida described Perry as Trudeaus "partner," writing, "Former Canadian Prime Minister @JustinTrudeau visited Japan with his partner and joined my wife and me for lunch." He reflected on their previous interactions, adding that during his tenure as prime minister, they met multiple times as fellow leaders and collaborated on initiatives such as the "Japan-Canada Action Plan."
Trudeau responded on social media, expressing gratitude for the meeting: "Katy and I were so glad to have the chance to sit down with you and Yuko. Thank you, Fumio, for your friendship and your continued commitment to both the international rules-based order and to a better future for everyone."
Fumio Kishida served as Japans 100th and 101st prime minister from October 2021 to October 2024. Trudeau stepped down as Canadas prime minister earlier this year after a decade in office.
Neither Trudeau nor Perry has publicly commented on their relationship. Perry recently ended her long-term relationship with actor Orlando Bloom, with whom she shares a daughter, Daisy Dove Bloom, born in August 2020. Trudeau announced his separation from his wife Sophie in August 2023; the couple, married in 2005, has three children: Xavier, Ella-Grace, and Hadrien.
