Militia attacks claim 114 lives as El Fasher atrocities are concealed in Sudan

Rapid Support Forces (RSF) militants have reportedly killed more than one hundred civilians in the Sudanese city of Kalogi while simultaneously concealing large-scale civilian deaths in El Fasher.

Sudans Foreign Ministry stated that RSF drone strikes in Kalogi, located in Kordofan, resulted in 114 deaths, including 46 children. Authorities described the attacks as part of a broader campaign of genocide targeting Sudanese communities.

According to the ministry, the first strike in South Kordofan deliberately hit a kindergarten using rockets launched from a drone, intending to cause mass casualties among children. When residents rushed in to rescue survivors, a second drone attack struck the same location, leading to additional deaths.

RSF fighters reportedly pursued victims and medical staff at a nearby hospital and also fired rockets at a government building, further increasing the death toll.

UNICEF representative Sheldon Yett condemned the killing of children in their school as a grave violation of their rights. He urged all parties to end the violence immediately and allow humanitarian aid to reach those in dire need.

The appeal followed an attack on a U.N. World Food Programme truck that was part of a convoy delivering aid in North Darfur.

U.N. Human Rights High Commissioner Volker Turk warned that Kordofan risks suffering the same fate as El Fasher, where atrocities were recently uncovered after the RSF seized control of the city following a prolonged siege.

Reports indicate El Fasher now resembles a vast crime scene, with bodies piled throughout the streets. Satellite images suggest RSF fighters are attempting to eliminate evidence of mass killings by gathering bodies in multiple locations and disposing of them in mass graves or through cremation. The city remains inaccessible even to U.N. war crimes investigators.

Current estimates indicate that 60,000 civilians have been killed in El Fasher, while another 150,000 remain unaccounted for.

The RSF and the Sudanese government have been locked in a civil war for two years. The conflict has caused up to 400,000 deaths, displaced around 12 million people, and triggered a severe humanitarian crisis.
