Pedestrian killed in Range Rover accident

A 31-year-old resident of Leyburn has tragically lost his life after being struck by a vehicle in the town, police confirmed.
The victim, Benjamin Robinson, was hit by a red Range Rover on Railway Street at around 10:10 PM GMT on 28 November. He was rushed to the hospital with critical injuries and later succumbed to them, North Yorkshire Police reported.
A woman in her 70s, initially detained in connection with the collision, has been released pending further investigation, a spokesperson stated.
The crash occurred near the junction of A684 Harmby Road and Yoredale Way. Authorities are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam recordings to come forward to assist with the investigation.
