Authorities have confirmed that a woman who disappeared during an international cruise has been safely found. Ann Evans, a 55-year-old American, failed to return to the Holland America Lines Rotterdam after leaving the ship for a planned island tour in Philipsburg, Sint Maarten on November 20.

On November 28, a Holland America Line representative confirmed to the press that Evans had been located. The spokesperson expressed gratitude toward the local authorities in Sint Maarten and stated that they were relieved the matter had been resolved.

The Sint Maarten Police Force (KPSM) also shared the update via social media, reporting that contact had been made with Evans after a collaborative effort with various partners. The department emphasized that no further details would be disclosed to protect privacy and personal information, thanking the public for their assistance during the investigation.

Evans had departed from the Rotterdam on November 20 for a scheduled activity while the ship was docked. She did not return when it was time to board. Police later indicated that someone matching her description had checked into a hotel on the French side of Sint Maarten using her passport and had been seen in the nearby area.

Evans had embarked from Fort Lauderdale, Florida, aboard the Rotterdam, which made stops in the Bahamas, St. Lucia, Tobago, Barbados, and Puerto Rico before its scheduled return on November 28.

Update on the Disappearance of Ann Evans: Case Closed

The disappearance of Ann Evans, a 55-year-old American tourist aboard the Holland America Line's Rotterdam, has come to a conclusion. After being reported missing on November 20, following her failure to return to the ship from an island tour in Philipsburg, Sint Maarten, Evans has been located. The situation, which had caused concern among both her family and fellow passengers, has been resolved positively.

On November 28, the authorities confirmed that Evans was found safe, with a spokesperson from Holland America Line expressing their relief. They extended gratitude to the local authorities in Sint Maarten, who were instrumental in locating her. The Sint Maarten Police Force also took to social media, stating that they had successfully established contact with Evans through a coordinated effort with various partners. In an effort to respect her privacy, they refrained from providing further personal details regarding the situation.

What began as a troubling case of a missing person during a cruise turned out to be a result of Evans checking into a hotel on the French side of Sint Maarten using her own passport. The police indicated that she had been seen in the area, though the exact circumstances surrounding her disappearance remain unclear. The authorities have urged the public to respect her privacy as the situation has now been resolved.

This case highlights the importance of coordinated international law enforcement efforts, with local police working alongside tourism-related services to resolve the matter quickly. Fortunately, the outcome was positive, and Evans is expected to return home soon, marking the end of an unsettling chapter for both her and the cruise community.
