Recall of Hundres of Dog Food Cases due to Plastic Contamination Risk

Fromm Family Foods has announced a recall of hundreds of dog food cases after pet owners reported discovering pieces of plastic in their pets meals. The recall affects the Bonnihill Farms BeefiBowls Beef Recipe frozen dog food and was initiated on Wednesday.

The company stated that approximately 300 cases are involved following complaints about plastic fragments found in the food. Dogs of all sizes may experience negative reactions if they consume the contaminated product. Ingesting plastic can lead to serious health concerns such as digestive issues and the possibility of intestinal blockage.

Symptoms in affected dogs may include vomiting, reduced appetite, lethargy, and stomach discomfort. Pet owners whose dogs show any of these signs after consuming the recalled food are advised to contact their veterinarian immediately.

The recalled dog food comes in a 16-ounce chub with a best-by date of December 25, 2026. It was distributed to pet stores in Illinois, Wisconsin, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Oklahoma, Louisiana, California, Nevada, Arizona, Colorado, Oregon, Washington, and Alaska. No illnesses or injuries linked to this recall have been reported so far.

Fromm Family Foods confirmed that the issue has been identified and that additional safety measures have been implemented to prevent similar incidents in the future. Consumers who purchased the affected dog food should stop feeding it to their pets and return it to the point of purchase for a refund.
