Recognition of Achievements by Surrey Police Officers

This years Surrey Police Federation Recognition Awards celebrated officers who have shown extraordinary dedication, whether supporting colleagues through challenging times, leading complex investigations, or promoting mental health awareness within the force.

The awards ceremony, held on Thursday, acknowledged members of Surrey Police who have consistently gone above and beyond their duties.

Sergeant Zoe Bradstreet, a Federation workplace representative for five years, was among the recipients. She has been instrumental in assisting colleagues, particularly those navigating misconduct procedures, and aims to provide calm and reassurance during difficult moments. Approaching retirement, she described the award as the icing on the cake for her career in policing.

Surrey Police Federation Chair Darren Pemble praised Sgt Bradstreet, calling her a shining example of a dedicated Federation representative.

Detective Sergeant Jessie Davis, who manages a team of detectives and oversees investigations, was also honoured. Having temporarily stepped away from policing to work with the United Nations, she emphasizes the human impact of police work, reminding her team that peoples lives are at the centre of every case. Pemble highlighted her empathy and resilience as having a significant positive influence on colleagues and victims alike.

Another award went to Acting Detective Sergeant Daniel Bell, a mental health and well-being officer for North Surrey. He established a support system for officers affected by traumatic incidents, providing a space to process events such as suicides, murders, or serious accidents. Motivated by recent suicides within the force, he helped launch the North Surrey Mind Health Support Group, a weekly therapy session, in May. Pemble noted that Bell has made a remarkable impact in encouraging officers to seek help and openly discuss mental health challenges.

The Recognition Awards highlight the dedication and compassion of Surrey Police officers who have made a meaningful difference in their colleagues lives and the wider community.
