Sarah Ferguson, the former Duchess of York, is reportedly struggling emotionally after losing her royal title, social influence, and business opportunities, following the controversy surrounding her and ex-husband Prince Andrews association with Jeffrey Epstein.
British broadcaster Helena Chard told Fox News Digital, She is leaning on trusted staff members. Her nerves are frayed.
At 66, Ferguson has shifted her focus to writing childrens books. However, her planned November release, Flora and Fern: Kindness Along the Way, was reportedly canceled by the publisher amid the ongoing scandal involving her and 65-year-old Andrew, sources indicate, heightening her distress.
King Charles recently stripped Prince Andrew of his royal titles, including Prince and Duke of York, and ordered him to leave the Royal Lodgea residence he shared with Ferguson despite their 1996 divorce. Consequently, Ferguson also lost her courtesy title of Duchess.
This follows over three years after Queen Elizabeth removed Andrew from his official duties and royal stipend after a civil suit filed by Virginia Giuffre, who accused him of sexual abuse when she was 17. Andrew denied the allegations but settled the case reportedly for $16 million.
Previously, a 2011 email from Ferguson to Epstein surfaced, in which she apologized for distancing herself and called him a generous and supreme friend. Fergusons representatives insist the email was sent under threat, as Epstein allegedly warned he would destroy her and her family. Despite this, she was removed from seven charitable roles.
Sources now suggest Ferguson is struggling to adjust to life outside the royal spotlight. Chard commented, She is shaken to the core by the loss of her royal safety net. She fears further humiliation and worries that the serious allegations will affect her daughters standing. Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie have reportedly distanced themselves from their parents scandal.
Royal analyst Hilary Fordwich described Ferguson as massively on edge and panicking about her future.
Analysis: Sarah Ferguson's Struggles Amid Royal Scandal
Sarah Ferguson, once a prominent member of the British royal family, is reportedly facing immense emotional and professional turmoil following the fallout from her association with Jeffrey Epstein and her ex-husband Prince Andrew's scandal. After the revocation of her royal titles and the loss of numerous business opportunities, Ferguson's life has taken a sharp downturn, underscoring the personal and public impact of the scandal that continues to affect her reputation.
At 66, Ferguson's shift towards writing children's books, including her planned November release, "Flora and Fern: Kindness Along the Way," was abruptly canceled by her publisher, further deepening her distress. Her emotional state has been described as fragile, with sources noting that she is relying heavily on trusted staff members for support. This adds to the considerable strain she already faces, as her personal and professional worlds are increasingly clouded by her past connections to Epstein and Prince Andrew’s ongoing legal issues.
The impact on Ferguson’s family life is also evident. Despite her daughters, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie, having distanced themselves from the scandal, there are concerns about the long-term effects on their social standing. Royal experts have emphasized the difficulty Ferguson faces adjusting to life outside the royal spotlight, with many suggesting that the loss of her royal titles has left her feeling exposed and vulnerable.
Ferguson’s situation highlights the challenges faced by public figures who find themselves ensnared in scandals, particularly when royal affiliations are involved. Her future, both professionally and personally, remains uncertain as she navigates the complexities of her newfound reality.
