Trump's 160 posts on Truth Social ignite debate on US president's endurance

Questions about the energy levels of 79-year-old Donald Trump, the oldest US president in history, have circulated recently, fueled by reports of him dozing in the Oval Office and starting his workdays late in the afternoon. Despite these concerns, Trump showed no signs of slowing down online.

On Monday night, the president unleashed a torrent of 160 posts on his favored social platform, Truth Social, within less than four hours. This unprecedented outburst of messages surpassed his previous prolific activity. According to the Daily Beast, posts flowed at a rate faster than one per minute between 7:09 PM and 11:57 PM ET.

Many of Trumps posts targeted familiar political figures, including Democratic Arizona Senator Mark Kelly, who, along with five other Democrats, recently reminded military personnel that they could refuse unlawful orders. Trump wrote: Mark Kelly and the group of Unpatriotic Politicians were WRONG to do what they did, and they know it! He warned that the public should not be misled into thinking it is acceptable to encourage defiance of the president.

Other prominent figures targeted included California Governor Gavin Newsom; Minnesota Governor Tim Walz and Congresswoman Ilhan Omar; former House Speaker Nancy Pelosi; former Presidents Barack Obama and Joe Biden; former FBI Director James Comey; and former Attorney General Eric Holder. Numerous posts also celebrated Trumps accomplishments and praised his own leadership. One video, shared twice, showcased Republican Congressman Byron Donalds discussing Trumps agenda, accompanied by commentary calling him the greatest president to ever live.

In line with the holiday season, another post highlighted Trumps claim that Christmas is officially great again, featuring an image of him with actor Macaulay Culkin from Home Alone 2: Lost in New York. Trump has disputed the film directors claim that he forced his cameo.

The posts also included extraordinary conspiracy claims. One credited Elon Musk with saving the 2024 election by disabling vote-altering machines in Serbia. Another alleged that Tulsi Gabbard, serving as Trumps Director of National Intelligence, held documents exposing former President Obamas role in the Russiagate hoax. Several posts repeated debunked assertions, including claims of illegal immigrants voting in US elections. Additionally, a video shared from Alex Joness Infowars suggested that Michelle Obama might have used President Bidens autopen for controversial pardons at the end of his term.

Repetition was a key aspect of Trumps posting spree. Many reposts appeared twice: first in the original format, then almost immediately with added commentary. Trumps late-night activity ended sometime after midnight, yet he resumed posting early Tuesday, focusing on the upcoming Georgia governors race and a House election in Tennessee to support Republican candidates. He emphasized his platform, posting twice: Truth Social is the best. There is nothing even close!!!
