Andrew and Fergie Excluded from Charles' Holiday Plans, Andrew Hopes to Make Them 'Invisible' for Christmas

Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor is spending this Christmas in solitude following the removal of his royal titles. Although he is alone, he remains within familiar surroundings.

According to royal insiders speaking to The Sunday Times, both Andrew and his former wife, Sarah Ferguson, have been excluded from King Charles annual Christmas gathering at Sandringham for the second consecutive year. A source close to the King explained, You cannot remove someone from being your brother. But if the duke and duchess act with the same discretion as last year, it would be best for all and spare the King from making further difficult decisions.

Sarah Ferguson and Royal Lodge Updates

Andrew was also absent from the 2024 Christmas dinner, choosing to stay at Windsor instead of celebrating at his new Sandringham residence. Reports indicate that his move from the Royal Lodge, his longtime 31-room home, has been postponed until February 2026. A source told The Sun, He has a large house he has lived in for many years, and moving to a smaller property will naturally take time, so it wont happen before Christmas.

John McDermott, creator of the Controversy podcast, told GB News that although Andrew will relocate to King Charles private estate in Sandringham, he will not face hardship. Some imagine him in a cave, but the reality is different. His public life has shrunk, yet he will still enjoy comfort on the estate, McDermott said. Its not Alcatraz. The isolation is private and controlled, but cushioned.

Royal Familys Approach

Meanwhile, King Charles prefers that Andrew and Sarah Ferguson stay out of the public eye whenever possible, using discreet entrances and exits. The Times reports, The King does not intend to prevent them from attending church or family events, but he hopes they do so more quietly. Andrew, however, seems to enjoy being less low-key.
