BBC Fact-Checker Exposes Mark Levin's Israeli Strike Clips as 'AI-Generated'

A BBC Verify reporter has identified that several videos shared by Fox News host Mark Levin, claiming to show Israeli attacks on Iranian forces, were actually created using artificial intelligence, with only one clip confirmed as authentic.

On Wednesday, Levin shared an Instagram post containing a video sequence that had been widely circulated on social media. The footage seemingly depicted members of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) at their computers before explosions suddenly obliterated the cameras views.

BBC Verify senior journalist Shayan Sardarizadeh responded by highlighting that three out of four clips in Levins post were fabricated, leaving only the third clipbeginning at the 10-second markas real.

The authentic footage, which had been slowed down for broadcast, was not taken at an IRGC facility but at the Artesh-controlled Tabriz air defense base. Kasra Aarabi, director of United Against Nuclear Iran, explained that the clip originally appeared in a documentary featuring an Artesh commander praising the courage and dedication of his soldiers, who carried out a counterattack despite knowing the risks to their lives.

Despite its original context, the verified clip circulated alongside the AI-generated videos, gaining traction on pro-Israel social media channels as an illustration of Israeli military capability.
