Even the right-leaning network Newsmax has labeled Defense Secretary Pete Hegseths September 2 boat attacks as a war crime. It pains me to say this, having worked alongside Pete Hegseth for nearly eight years at Fox News, said Judge Andrew Napolitano during a broadcast on Tuesday. This constitutes a war crimeforcing survivors, who are legally required to be rescued, to instead be killed.
Napolitano added, There is absolutely no legal justification for this. Everyone involved, from the secretary of defense to the admiral and the operatives who carried out the attack, should face prosecution for a war crime for the deaths of these two individuals.
This statement marks a rare moment of criticism from Newsmax, a network known for its strong support of former President Trump. The remarks highlight the widespread disapproval of the operation, indicating that both political sides view the actions as poorly executed and legally indefensible.
