Conservative podcaster Tim Pool has stated that his property in West Virginia was targeted when a vehicle opened fire near it on Friday night. Pool shared the news on X, clarifying that no one was injured in the incident. He mentioned that his security team is currently examining the situation and will file a report with law enforcement.
In a follow-up post, Pool suggested that the attack may have been intended to intimidate him. We have a security gate and armed personnel, which might have prevented a more serious outcome, he wrote.
Pool, known for hosting The Culture War Podcast, has a large following across YouTube, Instagram, and X. He initially gained attention during the Occupy Wall Street protests in 2011 and later as a reporter for Vice. While he did not specify the exact location of the property, his X profile lists Harpers Ferry, West Virginia.
The Harpers Ferry Police Department confirmed that the incident occurred outside their jurisdiction and referred inquiries to the West Virginia State Police and the Jefferson County Sheriffs Office. A spokesperson for the state police reported having no information on the matter, while the sheriffs office was unavailable for comment outside business hours.
The post drew responses from several public figures, including conservative commentator Megyn Kelly, who expressed concern and offered prayers for Pools safety. Republican Representative Marjorie Taylor Greene described the incident as terrifying and emphasized the need to oppose political violence.
Pool has been involved in other high-profile controversies, including a 2024 Justice Department case involving alleged propaganda operations linked to Russia Today and Tenet Media, which reportedly included conservative influencers. Pool has consistently denied producing content for the company and criticized the lack of concrete evidence in the indictment.
He has also attracted attention locally for purchasing a makeshift skatepark in West Virginias eastern panhandle following disputes with skateboarders, which he described as a conflict with a small group of individuals who personally disliked him.
