10 Surprising Revelations from “Sean Combs: The Reckoning” (Including the Rapper's Alleged Link to Tupac and Biggie’s Murders)

In December 2025, Netflix premiered a four-part docuseries chronicling the rise and controversies of Sean "Diddy" Combs. The series, Sean Combs: The Reckoning, included numerous startling claims about the rapper and music producer.

One of the most explosive allegations came from the man charged in Tupac Shakurs 1996 murder, claiming that Combs supposedly offered the Crips $1 million to target Tupac and Death Row Records Suge Knight. Fans were presented with a previously unseen perspective on the music mogul, portraying him as someone who allegedly used his influence to intimidate and harm those around him.

Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson, a producer of the docuseries, told Good Morning America that speaking out was necessary to prevent silence from being interpreted as approval of Combs behavior.

The docuseries included rare footage of Combs leading up to his September 2024 arrest on charges of sex trafficking, racketeering, and transportation for prostitution. While he was acquitted of the first two charges in July 2025, he was sentenced in October 2025 to 50 months in prison for two prostitution-related convictions. In response to the series, a spokesperson for Combs described it as a one-sided narrative based on allegations from a known adversary.

Highlights from the Series

1. Alleged abuse by Combs mother

Childhood friend Tim "Dawg" Patterson recounted witnessing Combs being physically harmed by his mother, Janice Combs. The series noted that she did not respond to inquiries about the allegations.

2. Alleged assault on ex-girlfriend Misa Hylton

Kirk Burrowes, co-founder of Bad Boy Entertainment, claimed to have seen Combs allegedly beat Hylton outside Uptown Records. Despite the alleged incident, the couple continued their relationship and had a son, Justin Combs, in 1993.

3. Attempt to avoid responsibility after City College stampede

In December 1991, a celebrity basketball event organized by Combs resulted in a stampede that killed nine people. Burrowes suggested that Combs structured Bad Boy Entertainment to avoid liability. He later paid $750,000 toward a $3.8 million settlement for the victims families.

4. Alleged $1 million hit on Tupac and Suge Knight

Duane Keefe D Davis claimed that Combs allegedly offered the South Side Crips $1 million to kill Tupac Shakur and Suge Knight amid escalating East Coast-West Coast tensions. Davis said he was supposed to receive half the payment for Tupacs murder, though he never did. Combs has denied any involvement.

5. Alleged coercion of Biggie Smalls to visit Los Angeles

Burrowes stated that Combs encouraged Christopher Wallace (The Notorious B.I.G.) to go to L.A. despite the risk following Tupacs death, including canceling a London trip to keep Biggie in the city. Biggie was later killed in a drive-by shooting in March 1997.

6. Funeral costs charged to Biggies estate

The docuseries claimed Combs paid for Biggies New York City funeral but structured it so the expense was recouped from the late rappers estate.

7. Alleged sexual assault of Aubrey ODay

Former Danity Kane member Aubrey ODay stated that she might have been assaulted by Combs, based on an affidavit from another alleged victim. She also shared sexually explicit emails she claimed were from Combs and alleged she was removed from the group for not participating sexually.

8. Attempt to transfer $200 million before arrest

Footage in the docuseries shows Combs on the phone days before his arrest, discussing plans to deposit $200 million.

9. Freak offs on Biggies death anniversary

Former escort Clayton Howard alleged that Combs held drug-fueled, sexually charged events annually on the anniversary of Biggies death.

10. Involvement of his son in controversial events

Rodney "Lil Rod" Jones claimed that Combs son, Justin, participated in the "freak offs," which involved multiple women, drugs, and music behind closed doors.
