Sean Combs: The Reckoning is a four-part Netflix docuseries exploring the complex life of rapper and entrepreneur Sean Diddy Combs. The series investigates his rise to fame, the collaborators who shaped his empire, and the allegations and events that have marred his legacy.

Combs faced federal charges in 2024 including racketeering conspiracy, sex trafficking, and transporting individuals for prostitution. In July 2025, a jury cleared him of the most serious accusations but found him guilty of two Mann Act violations. By October, he was sentenced to four years and two months in prison and fined $500,000 for prostitution-related offenses.

Directed by Alexandria Stapleton and executive produced by Curtis 50 Cent Jackson, the series incorporates rare footage, some shot by Combs himself, to tell a story of meteoric success shadowed by serious misconduct. Interviews with victims, colleagues, and insiders provide a chilling portrait of an artist accused of abusing his power.

1. Tragedy Marked the Start of Puff Daddy

In December 1991, Combs hosted a celebrity basketball game in Harlem. A surge of attendees at the City College of New York led to a stampede, resulting in nine deaths. The docuseries shows the chaos and its lasting impact, with Combs acknowledging the event as the start of his fame. Bad Boy Entertainment co-founder Kirk Burrowes noted that poor crowd control and excessive promotion contributed to the disaster.

2. Allegations of Assault and Exploitation

Joi Dickerson-Neal recounted being assaulted after appearing in a music video. She claimed the attack was filmed and shown at parties. In November 2023, she filed a lawsuit against Combs under the New York State Adult Survivors Act, becoming one of the first of over 100 civil cases against him.

3. Possible Connection to Tupac Shakurs Death

The series examines the East Coast vs. West Coast feud, highlighting Combs connection to The Notorious B.I.G. and Tupac Shakur. William Lesane, Tupacs cousin, suggested that events linked to Combs contributed to Shakurs death. Authorities later arrested Duane Keffe D Davis for first-degree murder, with the docuseries discussing an alleged promised payment from Combs that never materialized.

4. Aubrey ODays Disturbing Experience

Aubrey ODay, formerly of Danity Kane, revealed she was informed of an alleged assault she had no memory of. The docuseries depicts her reading the details and discusses sexual harassment emails and images sent by Combs under the guise of mentorship, which contributed to her eventual dismissal from the group.

5. Capricorn Clarks Harrowing Account

Former assistant and executive Capricorn Clark described being forced into a situation where Combs pursued Scott Kid Cudi Mescudi over a relationship with Cassie Ventura. Clark detailed a threatening incident during a supposed hiking trip, recounting her fear and eventual termination after witnessing Combs violent behavior.

Sean Combs: The Reckoning is now streaming on Netflix.
