A24 has brought together two acclaimed Hollywood talents for its latest project, Mother Mary. Anne Hathaway and Michaela Coel are set to star in what the studio describes as an "epic pop melodrama," portraying a musician and a legendary fashion designer, respectively.

The film will be directed by David Lowery, known for The Green Knight and A Ghost Story, marking his third collaboration with A24. The soundtrack will feature original songs by Jack Antonoff, frontman of Bleachers, and British pop sensation Charli XCX. Antonoff, celebrated for his work with artists such as Taylor Swift, Lorde, and Lana Del Rey, will bring his signature production style, while Daniel Hart will provide the films score.

Although specific plot details have been closely guarded, A24 outlines the story as an "epic pop melodrama" exploring the relationship between a fictional musician and an iconic fashion designer. The first official trailer hints at Hathaways character as a larger-than-life pop star concealing hidden truths.

Anne Hathaway, whose recent work includes Eileen, Mothers' Instinct, and The Idea of You, takes on the role of the musician. Michaela Coel, who gained international recognition with I May Destroy You and appeared in the Black Panther series, will portray the fashion designer.

The film promises a unique blend of cinematic storytelling, music, and fashion, with an ensemble of high-profile talent behind both the camera and the soundtrack. Fans can expect a visually striking and musically vibrant experience when Mother Mary hits theaters.
