Bollywood Actress Kriti Sanon Remembers Working with Shah Rukh Khan at the Beginning of Her Career

At the Red Sea Film Festival in Saudi Arabia on Friday, Bollywood actress Kriti Sanon charmed the audience by sharing a memory from the beginning of her career. She recalled her time on the set with superstar Shah Rukh Khan, describing herself as a total novice who had no idea what was happening.

The story emerged during an hour-long In Conversation session when an audience member mentioned working with Khan, prompting Sanon to recount her early days on Rohit Shettys Dilwale. She described Khan as generous and respectful, joking, Chivalry isnt dead. She added, When he talks to you, he gives full attention. Hes witty, intelligent, and treats everyone on set with respect. Her recollection was met with applause and enthusiastic reactions from the audience throughout the session.

Sanon also spoke openly about her unconventional entry into the film industry. She shared how she transitioned from an engineering student unsure of her passion to modeling, which began as a hobby before leading to television commercials and film offers. Sometimes life happens, she said. You just need to recognize the opportunities meant for you.

The discussion highlighted her acclaimed role in Mimi (2021), where she portrayed a woman who becomes a surrogate for a foreign couple. Winning Indias National Film Award for best actress for the role, she explained that the film expanded her understanding of her abilities as an actor. Mimi gave me a bigger canvas. It allowed me to take risks and be more confident in my choices, she said.

This willingness to explore new roles continues with her recent project, Tere Ishq Mein, which has gained international attention. Sanon was delighted by the audience response, noting that the resurgence of love stories in cinema is a refreshing change from the dominance of action films. She praised director Aanand L. Rai for portraying complex and imperfect female characters, emphasizing, Women arent just damsels in distress anymore. They are flawed, real, and loved for who they are.

The session ended with fans eagerly engaging, asking questions, taking selfies, and even performing for Sanon. She expressed feeling overwhelmed by all the love during her first appearance at the regions largest film festival.
