'Emily in Paris': Which Cast Member Will Not Be Returning for Season 5 and Why?

Emily in Paris is set to return on December 18 after more than a year away from screens. In Season 5, Emily (Lily Collins) and several familiar faces will travel to Rome. However, not everyone from previous seasons will be coming back. Some actors have officially announced their departures and shared their reasons, while the status of a few characters remained uncertain for some time. Below is a complete and cleaned-up overview of what is known.

Why Camille Is Leaving the Series

One of the most significant exits is Camille (Camille Razat), a central character from Seasons 1 through 4. After calling off her wedding to Gabriel upon realizing he was in love with Emily, and discovering that her pregnancy was a false positive, Camille decided to start a new chapter in life. She chose to become a single mother through adoption and leave Paris to pursue that path.

In April, Razat confirmed that she would be stepping away from the show. She explained that Camilles story had reached a natural conclusion and that it felt like the right time to move on to new opportunities. She recently completed work on two other projects and is now focusing on her own production company, which is currently developing its first feature film.

While her character is gone for now, Razat expressed her gratitude to the creators and left the possibility open for a future return to the series.

Other Cast Members Not Returning for Season 5

In addition to Razat, Rupert Everett will not be returning for the upcoming season. He appeared in Season 4 as Giorgio Barbieri, an Italian fashion designer. In August, Everett initially claimed that he had been fired from the show. Later, he clarified that his earlier comment was the result of a misunderstanding caused by a language mix-up while speaking to acting students at an Italian festival.

Kate Walsh, who portrayed Madeline, will also not return, as her characters storyline was concluded in Season 3.

Is Gabriel Returning?

Yes Gabriel, played by Lucas Bravo, will be back in Season 5. His return was confirmed through the release of a new trailer on December 3, in which he appears in several scenes, including one where he embraces Emily at a train station.

This confirmation came as a relief to fans, as earlier promotional material did not feature him, leading to speculation about his departure. Bravo had previously expressed frustration with the direction of his character, describing Gabriel as becoming increasingly lost, passive, and disconnected over the seasons.

He mentioned that he had grown distant from the character due to the way Gabriels personality was written, explaining that it had become less enjoyable to portray him. Since his contract originally ran through Season 4, many assumed he might not return but he is officially back for the new season.
