Reality TV personality Fraser Olender, known from Below Deck and recently noted for his relationship with Matt Rogers, revealed he is recovering after experiencing a severe medical episode linked to vaping. Olender described undergoing intense chest pain and difficulty breathing, leading to a week-long hospital stay in London under the care of specialists.
In a heartfelt Instagram post, he explained, "I suffered from vape-induced poisoning, known medically as E-cigarette or Vaping-Associated Lung Injury (EVALI), and I have never felt fear or pain like this before."
Olender detailed that a vaping device caused a coronary artery spasm, temporarily restricting blood flow to his heart. "This spasm triggered an ST-elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI), essentially a heart attacknot due to a blockage, but because my heart didnt receive enough oxygen during the spasm," he clarified.
Warning his followers about the dangers of vaping, Olender urged, "I could have lost my life over something so unnecessary. Please do yourself a favor and quit completelycold turkey. We still dont understand the full risks of these devices, but I can tell you firsthand, this was terrifying and not in any way enjoyable."
Despite the frightening ordeal, Olender shared glimpses of humor and lightheartedness, posting shirtless hospital photos and a playful video with Rogers, offering a mix of transparency and relatability.
