From Our Editor-in-Chief: PEOPLE's Amazing, Unpredictable 2025

This year marked my debut as editor-in-chief of PEOPLE, and reflecting on the extraordinary stories we've shared over the past 12 months, its astonishing how much we accomplished. Our pages featured intimate insights from icons like Priscilla Presley, Emma Heming Willis, Michael Strahan, and Charlie Sheen. Rare interviews included the likes of Billy Joel, Melinda French Gates, and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex.

We celebrated legends such as Dick Van Dyke, Dolly Parton, Michelle Obama, and Demi Moore. A highlight was showcasing stars on the rise, exemplified by our Sexiest Man Alive, Jonathan Bailey, who emerged as 2025's top-earning actor with blockbusters like Jurassic World: Rebirth and Wicked: For Good.

As the year winds down, our coverage took on a playful tone. This issue honors the Jonas Brothers, who commanded stages nationwide in 2025, while also reviewing the years most memorable moments in pop culture, both triumphant and challenging, according to Andrea Lavinthal, executive director of special integrated projects.

During an interview in Houston, the mood was light until a brief interruption due to low blood sugar halted the conversation. I was mortified, but the brothers were incredibly understanding, Lavinthal recalls. Superfan and editor Alexandra Schonfeld stepped in to continue, calling it a dream come true to sit across from the group she grew up listening to.
