Grace Van Patten Reveals Life with Costar Jackson White in Tell Me Lies

Grace Van Patten is embracing the challenge of portraying a toxic relationship with her real-life boyfriend, Jackson White, in the Hulu series Tell Me Lies. The actress enjoys stepping into the roles of Lucy Albright and Stephen DeMarco, a volatile couple, alongside Jackson, whom she met during auditions for the show.

When asked about how they tap into their characters intensity, Grace joked in an exclusive interview with E! News, There's no switching. That's exactly who we are. What you see is us. However, she clarified that their real-life personalities are far from their on-screen chaos. We are probably the exact opposite, thankfully, she said. That makes it so fun to act out those extreme scenes. Its so different from our real relationship that its a thrill to play mean and crazy.

Grace also emphasized the safety and excitement of acting alongside someone she trusts completely. She added that the strong bonds formed with co-stars Catherine Missal, Spencer House, Branden Cook, Sonia Mena, and Alicia Crowder have created a sense of family on set. This camaraderie made filming the third and most dramatic season of Tell Me Lies easier, which premieres on Hulu on January 13.

They're all my best friends now, Grace shared. Weve gone through so much together and essentially grown together on this show. Its been wonderful to deepen those relationships each year. Filming in Toronto for this season allowed the cast to explore the city on weekends, enjoying restaurants and activities together, which helped balance the intensity of their work.

Outside of acting, Grace has continued to explore new experiences. Recently in Miami, she attended the E1 Series powerboat racing Grand Finale with Bombay Sapphire, expanding her passion for both gin and sports. I had so much fun, she said. It was an incredible experience. I wasnt familiar with E1, but I was immediately hooked by electric powerboat racing. Her partnership with Bombay Sapphire even influenced her Thanksgiving, as she introduced the Bombay Sapphire Sparkling Lemon to her family, who loved it.

Looking forward, Grace is excited for fans to watch season three of Tell Me Lies, where characters begin facing consequences from prior actions. Everyone has gotten away with a lot, and now its all catching up to them, she explained. Each character goes through their own journey, and viewers will experience it with them. She believes audiences will connect with more characters this season.

Season three of Tell Me Lies premieres on Hulu on January 13. In the new season, Lucy and Stephen attempt to restart their turbulent romance at Baird College, but past mistakes and campus controversies create new challenges. Meanwhile, their friends confront the fallout from prior events, as secrets and scandals threaten the groups stability.
