The U.K.s entertainment community gathered at the Park Lane Hilton on Friday for the annual Women in Film and TV Awards, celebrating outstanding achievements by women across the industry.
The evenings highest honor, the EON Productions Lifetime Achievement Award, was presented to the legendary Dame Joan Collins. The award was handed over by actor and broadcaster Stephen Fry, highlighting Collins remarkable career in film, television, and stage.
Speaking on the red carpet, Collins reflected on her journey. I started at 17, and arriving in Hollywood at 20 was unforgettable. Coming from post-war Britain to see the glamorous lifestyle and iconic studios was like stepping into a dream, she said. She recalled the enchantment of 20th Century Fox Studios, with its picturesque sets and inviting pools.
Fry praised Collins for her enduring strength and elegance. She embodies a generation of women who pursued their ambitions with determination and style. Shes a true inspiration for anyone navigating a male-dominated world, he commented.
The ceremony, hosted by comedian Katherine Ryan in partnership with Sky, also honored Hannah Walters, producer of the Emmy-winning series Adolescence. Walters received the ENVY Producer Award from actress Erin Doherty. Anna Maxwell Martin, fresh from winning an International Emmy for her role in BBCs Ludwig, was awarded the BBC Studios Best Performance Award by her Motherland co-star Lucy Punch.
Martin shared her excitement at the recognition: Being here among so many incredible women in film and TV is truly special. Awards like this help shine a light on the contributions we make to the industry.
Additional accolades included the Paramount Contribution to the Medium Award to Gabby Logan, the Mercury Studios Business Award to Tanya Shaw, and the MBS Equipment Co-Craft Award to stunt actress Nikki Berwick.
The event featured an impressive roster of attendees, including Morfydd Clark, Alison Steadman, Adjoa Andoh, Helen Fielding, Tamsin Greig, Emily Atack, Carol Vorderman, and Clive Myrie.
