Martha Stewart lays to rest deceased horses in 'clean white linen' on her property: 'Beautiful final resting place'

Martha Stewart has revealed that she personally buries her deceased horses on her property, wrapping them carefully in pristine white linen before placing them in a deep grave. Speaking on the 50+ & Unfiltered podcast with Shawn Killinger, a former contestant from The Apprentice: Martha Stewart, Stewart described her method and shared her own plans for after death.

"When one of my horses passes, we dig a very deep hole in one of the fields. Its a kind of pet cemetery," Stewart explained. "The horse is gently wrapped in clean white linen and placed into this large, beautiful grave."

Asked whether it is legal to bury animals on her property, Stewart responded, "Why not? Its my land, and it doesnt harm anyone." Regarding her own end-of-life wishes, she stated she prefers composting over traditional burial methods. "Coffins and all that? No way," she added.

Stewart also spoke about her close encounters with mortality, recalling being struck by lightning three times, the first while washing dishes at home. "I saw the lightning travel through the pipes and come out of the faucetit hit me in the stomach and knocked me down," she recounted.

Her eco-conscious approach to death and burial reflects a broader interest in sustainability and environmental responsibility, extending even to the treatment of her beloved animals.
