Francesca Scorsese, daughter of acclaimed director Martin Scorsese, recently admitted in a social media video that she had been saying her family name incorrectly for years. The 26-year-old shared the revelation in an Instagram clip released in partnership with Fox Nation, promoting the upcoming episode of the docudrama series Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints.
"This is really bad, because I was saying my last name wrong, like, my whole life," Francesca explained. "I was saying 'Scor-say-see,' but its actually 'Scor-sezz-ee. Scor-sezz-ee.'" She added that she sometimes alternates between the pronunciations but has now accepted the correct version.
Francesca is the youngest child of Martin Scorsese and his wife, Helen Morris. The director, 83, also has two other daughters from previous marriages: Cathy, 59, with Laraine Marie Brennan, and Domenica, 49, with journalist Julia Cameron.
In recent years, Francesca has gained a notable following on social media, with over 419,000 TikTok followers and 248,000 Instagram followers. Her popularity has grown through humorous videos featuring her father, showcasing a more personal and playful side of the legendary filmmaker. Francesca noted in February 2024 that these videos were well-received, giving fans a glimpse of Martin beyond his iconic career.
The father-daughter duo most recently celebrated their birthdays together on TikTok in November 2025, marking Francescas 26th and Martins 83rd birthdays.
The latest episode of Martin Scorsese Presents: The Saints will premiere on Fox Nation on December 7. Meanwhile, Martin Scorseses life and work are also explored in the five-part documentary Mr. Scorsese, available for streaming on Apple TV.
