One insider described the special as "leftover footage dressed up in ribbon," noting a clear clue for viewers: the presence of Meghan's beagle, Guy, who passed away in January 2025. This raises speculation that this might be the final episode of With Love, Meghan.

Industry sources suggest that the holiday special is more of a "formality," fulfilling Netflix's final obligation as part of the Sussexes $100 million deal.
