Miley Cyrus and boyfriend Maxx Morando get engaged after 4 years of dating

Grammy-winning artist Miley Cyrus, 33, has confirmed her engagement to singer Maxx Morando, 27, after four years together. She shared the news during an interview with Good Morning America while promoting the film Avatar: Fire and Ash.

The full interview with Cyrus discussing the movie will air on ABCs Good Morning America on Wednesday from 7 am to 9 am ET. In the film, Cyrus performs the song "Dream As One", which she co-wrote and co-produced alongside Andrew Wyatt and Mark Ronson.

Speculation about the couple's engagement arose after they appeared at the Avatar: Fire and Ash premiere on Monday night, where Cyrus was spotted wearing a ring that resembled an engagement ring.

The couple was all smiles as they posed for photographers at the Dolby Theatre in Hollywood, California on December 1, 2025. Morando, who is a member of the band Liily, has been publicly linked to Cyrus since 2021, with the pair first being seen holding hands at the Gucci Love Parade in Hollywood that year.

Morando has also collaborated with Cyrus on her music. In 2023, he produced the track "Handstand" and co-produced "Violet Chemistry" on her album Endless Summer Vacation. Additionally, he helped produce and write several songs on her latest album, Something Beautiful.

In a 2023 interview with British Vogue, Cyrus described how they met on a sort of blind date. She recalled, "Well, it was blind for me and not really for him. I thought, 'The worst that can happen is I leave.'"

In another interview with The Cut, she spoke about the significance of their relationship, saying, "I ended up with a person who means a lot to me and treats me really well and respects me. I had to learn that the hard way because my mommy taught me the wrong way and then I had to learn the right way by myself."

The announcement of their engagement comes six years after Cyrus finalized her divorce from actor Liam Hemsworth. The former couple, who met on the set of The Last Song in 2009, married in 2018, and separated in 2019.
