Observation: Raccoon causes chaos in liquor store and falls asleep drunk in bathroom

On December 3, authorities were called to a Virginia liquor store after a raccoon broke in, caused chaos among the shelves, and passed out from alcohol in the bathroom. Hanover County Animal Protection and Shelter reported that officers responded Saturday to a call about an animal intrusion at the ABC store in Ashland.

Upon arrival, the officer discovered that the furry intruder had torn through multiple shelves, sampled various liquors from broken bottles, and then decided to rest on the bathroom floor. The raccoon's spree, described as a "liquor-fueled adventure," ended when the officer safely captured the animal and transported it to the shelter to sober up.

Officials noted that the raccoon was unharmed, aside from a potential hangover and questionable judgment, and it was later released back into the wild after regaining sobriety.
