Prince Harry receives boos for mocking 'King' Trump on 'Late Show With Stephen Colbert'

Prince Harry surprised viewers when he made an unexpected appearance on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert on December 3, drawing a standing ovation from the audience, which quickly turned to boos. The moment came as Colbert was discussing cheesy holiday films where Americans fall in love with members of the British royal family.

As Colbert humorously remarked about the American fascination with royalty, Prince Harry, 41, responded with a cheeky comment. I wouldnt say were obsessed with royalty, Colbert said, prompting Harry to quip, Really? I heard you elected a King? The remark about Donald Trump was met with boos from the crowd.

Colbert acknowledged the jab, admitting, No, hes got a point, before Harry continued by poking fun at King George III, his sixth-great-grandfather, suggesting that Americas obsession with the monarch, who lost the colonies in 1783, was overblown. When Colbert called the king a jerk, Harry laughed and advised him to let it go.

Harrys banter didnt stop there. He also made light of CBS settling a frivolous lawsuit with Donald Trump, referring to the networks $16 million payout to resolve the legal dispute.

Later, Harry expressed interest in starring in a Hallmark-style Christmas movie about royal romance, joking that he might know a famous American actress. As festive snowflakes fell and sleigh bells rang, Colbert playfully crowned Harry the shows official Late Show prince of Christmas, to which Harry replied, Theres a handsome prince standing right beside you.

Although Meghan Markle was not present during the appearance, she showed support online, posting an Instagram Story of Harry and Colbert lip-syncing to a meme from The Great British Bake Off.
